CHAPTER 6

London

Bas just stared at me. I'm not sure what he's thinking and uncertainty creeped in with each passing second. Maybe he doesn't want to take this further.

I’m not sure if I said that last sentence out loud or if he just read it in my eyes, but his answer erased any doubts in my mind.

“Not here. Not the first time anyway.” His crooked smile was sexy, seductive, and somewhat wicked. “I want to stretch you out on my bed and love every inch of you.” His eyes glowed in the dim light and I shivered in anticipation. “Will you let me?”

The word yes had barely left my mouth when Bas took my hand and led me upstairs. We walked into a darkened room and as he turned on the bedside lamp, a soft glow filled the space.

While the rest of the house is cluttered with tools, materials, and debris, this room is a place of timelessness and serenity. The half-paneled walls and beamed ceilings combined with the elegant luster of the gold paint give the room a cozy feel.

“This room is beautiful.” I focused on the four-poster bed with its intricately-carved headboard that dominated the space. “And that’s amazing.”

“The other rooms were wallpapered and updated to various degrees, but for some reason they left this one alone. And I really like it as is. I plan on renovating the other rooms to look like this.” He nodded toward the bed. “I moved all the other furniture to a storage unit, but kept that here on the off chance I need it.” He tucked a stray hair behind my ear and offered a sweet smile. “Like when a beautiful woman travels here from the States and catches my eye.”

“Does that happen often?” I asked, in what I hoped was a flirtatious tone.

He slowly shook his head.

“I’d say it’s a once–in-a-lifetime experience.” He stepped closer and placed his hands on either side of my face. His thumbs lightly stroked my cheeks, and even that innocent action sent erotic shivers down my spine.

“Are you sure about this?”

“I’m sure.”

“Me too,” he said, before crushing his mouth to mine.

His hands moved down my body, then back up, dragging my T-shirt with them. The kiss ended just long enough for him to pull it over my head. He opened the button fly of my jeans and with expert care and dragged them down my legs.

Lying me down in the center of the bed, his eyes toured my body. I’m not a sexy underwear kind of girl, but my cotton set is from Victoria’s Secret so it’s still super cute.

“You are so beautiful. Perfect.” His fingertips brushed my abdomen. “Soft.”

I’m not a virgin, but my past sexual encounters haven’t exactly been Earth-shattering. Something tells me being with Bas is going to be different.

He leaned down to kiss my stomach, nipping at my navel before continuing upward. Through the fabric of my bra, he teased one nipple with his tongue, tantalizing, drawing it further into the moist heat of his mouth, creating a stiff peak.
